Obituary for Scottie Rudisill Abernethy

Scottie Rudisill Abernethy, age 79 of Maiden passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Carolina Caring (formerly Catawba Regional Hospice) in Sherrills Ford. Born October 4, 1939 in Catawba County she was the daughter of the late Harold Augustus and Myrtle Withers Rudisill. Scottie was a graduate of Maiden High School and retired from Carolina Mills in Maiden after 40+ years of service. In addition to her parents, husband, Franklin Delano Abernethy preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory:
2 Daughters: Alise Abernethy of the home; Robin Abernethy Torrence and husband Jim of Severna Park, MD

2 Granddaughters: Nichole T. Eakins and husband Chris of Centerville, MD; Michele T. Bedell and husband Kevin of Crofton, MD

3 Great-Grandchildren: Makenzie & Nathan Eakins; Kaleb Bedell

Numerous cousins

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church in Maiden with Pastor Eddie Andrews officiating.

Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, NC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00- 1:15 pm at the church, prior to the service.
