Obituary for Lucy B. Ivey

Lucy Ann Beaver Ivey, age 84, of Iron Station passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at The Addison of Lincolnton. Lucy was born April 24, 1936 in Iredell County to the late Howard L. Beaver and Bertie Anderson Beaver. Lucy was a member of Boger City Baptist Church and was actively attending Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Dr. Malcom H. Ivey; a brother, William “Bill” Beaver; sister, Ruth Kirby; and son-in-law, Johnny Sweatt, Jr.

As a family, through profound grief, we are praising our Savior, Jesus Christ, that our precious Momma is now with our Lord and with our beloved Daddy. There are no words to accurately describe our longing for Heaven and the reunion that will take place there one day. Mother would tell you that the best thing she ever did in her life was to ask Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior and she would encourage you to do the same. She ran her race well and the love and the joy of the Lord was always displayed in her life.

She is survived by:

2 Daughters: Ann Cochrane (Mike) of Mint Hill, Cathy Sweatt of Alexis

Grandchildren and their spouses: Kristi and Jason Outlaw, Wesley and Tara Sweatt, Casey and Shelly Cochrane, Andy and Lauren Sweatt, and Nicholas and Cayla Cochrane

Great Grandchildren and their spouses: Sarah and Ben Meneses, Jackson Burnette, Brooklyn Sweatt, Hayley Sweatt, Hayden Sweatt, Cadence Beam, Tanner Cochrane, Bryson Cochrane

Great-Great Grandchildren: Braylon Meneses, Thea Meneses

Brother: Robert Beaver (Sandy) of Hickory

Special Friends: Ervileen Pridgen, Richard and Maybelle Boyette, and Kim Hudson
