Life Legacy

Lewis LeRoy Sipe, age 88, of Maiden passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his residence. Born June 22, 1925 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Albert Clinton and Essie Turner Sipe.
Lewis was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and retired after 30 years service with the US Postal Service. He was a US Navy veteran, a member of Southeastern Retractable Car Club and was founder and charter member of Maiden Rescue Squad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Winfred, Haven, Sethus, Joe and Carl Sipe.

He is survived by:
Wife of 60 years: Twila Lemons Sipe of the home

Daughter: Cheryl Sigmon of Maiden

3 Sons: Reggie Sipe, Keith Sipe and wife Cindy and Kevin Sipe and wife Melinda, all of Maiden

12 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren

Sister: Christine Burgess of Maiden

The funeral service will be held on Friday August 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Newton with Pastor John Lingle officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery

The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday from 1:30- 2:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
