Obituary for Ronald Lee Booher

Ronald Lee Booher, 80 of Hickory passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice, Newton. Born December 8, 1934 in Cromwell Township, PA, he was the son of the late Jack Booher and the late Maude Barnes Booher. Ronald was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Newton. He was a member of the Marine Corps League of Hickory, Chapter 1163 and completed 3 Tours of Duty in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, 3 brothers, Richard Booher, Infants: Kenny Booher and Robert Booher, and 1 Sister, Lois Oppel preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory: Wife: Molly Bryan Booher of the home 2 Sisters: Barbara Reed and husband Tom of Pennsylvania, Janice Romanoff of Maryland. 1 Brother: Dennis Booher and wife Judy of Maryland A number of Nieces and Nephews The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with Pastor Chris Chasen and Pastor Janice Kelly officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 1:00pm – 1:45 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or St. James Lutheran Church, 1942 St. James Church Rd., Newton, NC 28658. Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Booher family.
